Remittances of moroccans living in the USA: DH 3.3 billion in 2007

The third edition of Moroccan American Bridges  conference held at the Hyatt Regency on May 5-6 attracted 70 participants. Four distinguished keynote speakers addressed the conference including Ambassador Thomas Riley,  Minister Mohammed Ameur, Ambassador Hassan Abouyoub and former Minister Nouzha Chekrouni.  

Topics debated in the conference sessions included the Moroccan stock market and financial sector opportunities, presented by James Morrow, Managing Director of Citibank Maghreb, Younes Benjelloun, Partner at CFG, Adil Rzal, Director of Development at Upline Securities, Amina Mezouar, Vice President at Bank of America and Abdelali Jbili, Associate Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Driss R. Temsamani Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Citigroup. During his speech Minister Mohammed Ameur reminded the Moroccan expatriates about the importance of their role in the Moroccan Economy, stating that in 2007 total remittances to Moroco reached DH 3.3 billion.
